Full Circle

After three months or so, I'm back in Bangkok. I spent a few days on Koh Chang island. It was a typical tropical island paradise, but being the rainy season, the weather wasn't so good and the water was a bit murky. However, between rain and more rain the island managed to serve up these tasty vistas:

I arrived yesterday in Bangkok at the bus terminal adjacent to the Chatuchak weekend market, which is the largest market in the known universe, and had to walk through it to get to the SkyTrain station. It was a harried re-introduction to this frenetic city. Bangkok is a cool place, though - I could spend years here and never run out of things to do. It's a traveler's cliche, but I think there are few places that combine the hyper-modern and the very traditional so closely juxtaposed. Here's a photo of the modern side:
