Here are a couple of photos from the local market here in An Duong. Yen Phu is the name of the major road here built on top of the levee that separates this neighborhood from the neighborhoods to the west (near Truch Bach Lake and West Lake). The market is a pretty small neighborhood affair, which gives it a good scale. The market itself spills out into the surrounding
streets, where ladies on bicycles will try and sell you a huge bag of lychees. You can get your general produce, including my personal favorite the dragon fruit, which is pink with green scaly looking fins on the outside, and white with black seeds on the inside. Plus some very suspicious looking meats and fish, homemade tofu, and bundles of rice vermicelli. I went a little crazy and bought one of everything. It's also a good way to learn your numbers: hai nghin ruoi!
