The Sights

I have also been doing some of the traditional tourist stuff here, the usual array of temples and palaces. Here's a couple images:

I'm also impressed with the number of regular wats strewn about town. It seems like there a lot more even under consturction, and built in a traditional design with a high level of craftsmanship. They seem like a major organizing space for the community, sort of a quiet refuge that is apart from the chaos of the neighborhood, but also a public space that anyone can walk through. They all seem to be built as compounds, with temples, monk living quarters, and a wall around them, adding to the sense of a refuge.
